Managing Diabetes in Older Adults
With a significant aging population, managing chronic diseases such as diabetes requires new treatment options and better evidence-based guidelines. While there has been expert guidance from leading diabetes organizations, there is a significant lack of data for older patients with diabetes.
Medha N Munshi, MD, associate professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School, director of the Joslin Geriatric Diabetes Program, and a geriatrician at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, wrote a paper identifying areas in which more research is necessary.
